Most people see the Galápagos from a boat. This trip stays on the islands instead, in hotels and community-run guesthouses, so you're out walking, riding and paddling every day.
You'll hike the rim of Sierra Negra, one of the largest volcanic craters in the world, then ride bikes back down. You'll snorkel with sea lions off Floreana, kayak near Tintoreras on Isabela, and walk among giant tortoises in the Santa Cruz highlands.
Two nights are spent on Floreana, one of the quietest inhabited islands, in guesthouses run by local families. Your stay there supports the people who live on the island.

Activity level: Moderate. G Adventures rates it a 3 out of 5. Walks are a few kilometers and you should be comfortable on a bike and in the water.
Ages: 12 and up. Travelers under 18 must be with an adult.
Style: Comfortable hotels and simple, clean guesthouses. This is an active trip, not a luxury one.

Good to know
When is the trip confirmed?
The trip needs at least 8 travelers booked by December 10, 2027 to run. Please hold off on booking international flights until we let you know the group is confirmed.
What if I need to cancel?
60 or more days before departure: your deposit becomes a credit you can use on a future G Adventures trip.
30 to 59 days before: deposit credit, plus you lose 50% of your final payment.
Less than 30 days before: deposit credit, plus you lose 100% of your final payment.
Please read this one carefully. Once the trip is confirmed, G Adventures charges the group for at least 8 travelers, even if people cancel later. If a cancellation drops the group below 8, the traveler who cancels is responsible for covering that cost in addition to the fees above. This is a big reason we ask everyone to buy travel insurance.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Every traveler must have emergency medical coverage that includes at least $200,000 for evacuation and repatriation. We also strongly recommend a plan that covers trip cancellation and interruption, and we're happy to help you find one.
What do I need to book?
Your full name exactly as it appears on your passport, date of birth, gender and nationality, plus the $350 deposit.
Why do I need cash?
The $200 park entry fee and $20 transit control card can only be paid in cash, in US dollars. Bring it with you from home so you're not hunting for an ATM in Quito.
